As I walked into the grow room this Sunday, these seedlings taught me an important lesson.
The grow lights hummed quietly in the background—a steady, purple glow. Despite being sown at the same time, in the same trays, with the same soil and light and water, no two seedlings are growing exactly alike.
I noticed that some shot up quickly, stretching their leaves toward the light like they’ve been waiting their whole lives to grow. Others are just now starting to unfurl, taking their time, slowly and surely. A few still look like they’re thinking about it—quiet and still, but alive.
And isn’t that just like us?
We’re all planted in this life with different stories, different seasons, and different timelines. Some people find their passion early and run with it. Others take detours, wander a bit, or start over completely.
Watching these seedlings grow has been a gentle reminder that everything grows in its own time.
So if you’re in a season where everyone else seems to be thriving while you feel stuck or slow or unsure, take heart. You’re not behind. You’re just on your own timeline.
